ABOUT ELISE HOOPER DESIGNS As a little girl, I loved to play with dolls and stuffed animals and my interest in needlecrafts was born out of my desire to make them clothing, furniture, houses (yes, I tried--unsuccessfully--to make a Victorian dollhouse!). While in college, I worked in the theater department's costume room as a seamstress and learned how to sew and construct whalebone corsets, petticoats and all kinds of fabulous creations. Motherhood led me back into sewing clothes and toys for my two girls and for our friends. My personalized blankets started off as a "go to" gift for friends. Soon I began getting emails from friends of friends who wanted them. Before I knew it, my Etsy shop launched in June 2009 and I've been fortunate to be surrounded by family and friends who are very supportive of my work. My few-of-a-kind creations reflect my belief that kids should look like kids and wear things that express their interests. Every baby and child should enjoy some unique, handmade items that are designed and crafted with love. |
